My 3 1/2 year old has been trying a balance bike without too much success and we really wanted to move up to something that she could at least participate with us on a bike trail. She's just over 3 feet and so we weren't sure if we should start with a 12" or 14" tire sized bike. The 16" is perfect. Dropped the seat all the way down and she is a speed demon around the house. She was able to cruise around the neighborhood without too much difficulty as long as it was flat. I think she will be able to hit it all in a couple months. I really think she will be able to use this bike for at least a few years. The training wheels are very easy to put on and take off without a tool. There is also a great "hand grip" on the back of the seat for "catching her" if she can't slow down. Great price for a Specialized too!

Comments:
I love the lightweight of this bike she can pick it up and move it easily and she only weighs in at 34lbs herself. I would have liked it to have come with a hand brake. This problem was easily delt with since this bike uses real bike parts unlike others. After seeing this bike my friends actually bought one for his daughter as well.

So while shopping for a bike for my daughter, I can across this bike. I actually cannot believe the quality. For not much more than another major brand, you get an aluminum frame, nice components, a handle on the seat for easy lifting, aluminum wheels, and an all around great bike. I could not belive how much better the quality was for not much more money. I wish it was styled a little better for a 16" bike to appeal to my 5 yr old better, but it was an exact replica of the full-sized bike. I guess that would be good if you had multiple kids or a girl the wants to be like a big kid. Me - I have to buy the aftermarket streamers to make the bike more youthful. I could not have been more impressed with this bike. A little pricy but well worth it.
